"In its entirety, the record appears to have been the extremely well documented report submitted to Pope Clement V at Avignon of the proceedings of the mission of his two nuncios sent at the request of the king to compose the serious differences that had arisen after the violent death of Piers Gaveston in June, 1312 ... The two papal nuncios were Arnaud Novelli, or de Nouveau ... and another Arnald, de Auxio or d'Aux."--Introduction.
