Papers of Paul H. Todd, Sr. (1887-1969) and Elizabeth Dewing Todd (1898-1976), about their involvement in Kalamazoo, Michigan, civic, business, and political activities. Paul H. Todd, Sr. served as Mayor and as City Commissioner in Kalamazoo, ca. 1920s-1940s. Dewing and Todd family genealogies. Farnum family genealogy. Photocopies of ship's logs/journals of William Dewing on voyages between Bombay, India, and England, 1829-1835. Papers and miscellaneous items about the Mac Sim Bar Paper Company, Otsego, Michigan, 1930-1944. Surveys and reports about the depression era in Kalamazoo, include a 1934 housing survey with a particular reference to the "Negro Housing Problem" and a 1934 report of the Civil Works Administration in Kalamazoo County; a 1951 financial report for the Dewing Children's Home, Kalamazoo. Miscellaneous papers and publications about Paul Todd, Jr.'s term as United States Congressman from Kalamazoo, beginning in 1964. Papers of Lebeus Cornelius Chapin include materials about his Civil War services as Assistant Surgeon at Burlington, Vermont, and Beaufort, South Carolina; miscellaneous papers about soldiers who died at Beaufort in the 1st Division General Hospital, 1864-1865; Mary Chapin's European travel diary, 1906.
