Abstract:

Tibet! An immense country, cut off and closed-in on itself. In these empty, cold valleys at over 4,000 metres in altitude, the difficult living conditions of the families have remained practically unchanged for centuries. Previously, becoming farmers, herders or yak drivers was in the scheme of things. At present, the jobless youth migrate to towns and the dead-end of unemployment. Today the Tibetans are the outcasts of Chinese economic growth.
