Volume contains manuscript and printed material relating to a survey by surrealists on love: the printed statement and questionnaire (in duplicate), manuscript responses, the printed versions of the responses from issue number 12 of La révolution surréaliste (1929), and newspaper clippings. There are 54 manuscript responses to the survey, 47 autograph and seven typescript, addressed to La révolution surréaliste or to André Breton, with revised drafts from Luis Buñuel and Paul Eluard. In additon to Buñuel and Eluard, contributors include well-known artists and writers affiliated with the surrealist movement. Contributors include: Louis Aragon, Jacques Baron, Joë Bouquet, Breton, Blaise Cendrars, René Char, René Crevel, Robert Desnos, Fernand Divoire, Hubert Dujardin, Luc Durtain, Max Ernst, André Gaillard, Maurice Heine, René Magritte, Francis de Miomandre, Paul Nougé, Valentine Penrose, Pierre Renaud, François Ribadeau Dumas, Rolland de Renéville, J.-H. Rosny, Noël Sabord, Georges Sadoul, André Thirion, Pierre Unik, and Clément Vautel. Binding bears the name of Paul Bonet.
