John Locke; Alexander Campbell Fraser
|Notes:||The text of Locke's Essay Concerning Human Understanding is based on the Twelfth Edition Works. The Twelfth Edition was proofread against the Fraser edition, and discrepancies were arbitrated by the Fourth Edition. We relied upon the Twelfth Edition in those instances in which discrepancies arose out of Fifth Edition changes. Two page numbers identify each folio: np. refers to the 1975 Nidditch edition, while dp. refers to the 1959 Fraser (Dover) edition.|
