Abstract:

The Little Bible Heroes series of books is designed to bring many of the most important stories in the Bible down to a young child's level. These stories are illustrated using children and childlike people to bring to life these amazing true stories. At the end of each story, children are asked questions about how to apply the principles of the story to their own lives. The king of Babylon needs a new queen. He gathers all of the beautiful girls in Babylon so that he can choose a queen from among them. Esther is a Jewess, and the king likes her the best, and picks her to be his new queen. Haman is the king's helper. He hates Jews and tricks the king into killing them. Esther gives a banquet for the king and Haman. The king likes the banquet so much that he says to Esther, "I'll give you anything you ask for." Esther replies, "Haman wants to kill my people. Please stop him." The king is angry and stops Haman. The holiday called Purim is celebrated to remember how Esther saved her people.
