The girls in this book are all different -- they are from different racial and socioeconomic backgrounds, they don't wear the same dress sizes, and some don't even speak the same language.  But they all give young women throughout the United States a positive voice, and this book reflects the positive side of teenagers.  Many stories revolve around community involvement, while others tell of a illness, divorce, or struggle the girl has overcome.  Appropriate and appealing to many grade levels, with attractive photographs and a clean layout.
