This was one of the first art instruction books I read soon after I began painting. I borrowed it from my library and really thought the author led me through some super exercises that helped me understand the relationships of colors to one another. My advice - actually do the exercises, don't just read through them. Nita Leland has a gift for explaining things in a simple-to-understand manor without talking down to her reader. Excellant!
