This book is a wonderful resource for genealogists researching their family history in Schifferstadt. Books A and B together are a comprehensive genealogy of residents of the town of Schifferstadt during the 1800s and early 1900s. Book A includes a section with historical information in the form of a timeline and lists of priests, ministers, mayors, and famous residents. Book B includes a table with information on residents known to have emigrated. There are columns for family information, initial destination, date, and eventual place of residence. The books are well-organized and very easy to use. Family groups are listed in alphabetical order, and English speakers should have little or no trouble extracting genealogical information. Book B includes an index which is useful for tracking female ancestors.
I wish I could find a copy of Volume 1!
