Papers relating to Williams's son, Josiah C. Williams (d. 1900), including letters (1851-1858) to his father written while attending school in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Civil War letters, diaries, and other papers, relating to his service as an officer with 27th Indiana Infantry Regiment in Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, and Georgia; Civil War letters of another son, Edwin Williams, serving with 115th Indiana Infantry Regiment in Kentucky and Tennessee, and of George W. Reed, serving with 27th Indiana Infantry Regiment in Virginia and Maryland; diaries and other papers of Williams's father-in-law, Isaac Reed (1788-1858), an itinerant Presbyterian minister; other family correspondence, including letters (1839-1864) from Williams's father in Poughkeepsie, and letters (1886-1887) from his daughter and son-in-law, Gertrude and Edwin Williamson, written during a trip to Europe and Palestine; sermons; and family business papers. Correspondents include Baynard R. Hall, Caleb Mills, and Albert S. White.
