Abstract:

This illustrated police patrol textbook covers the problems, objectives, and legality of interrogation, the observation and selection of subjects, techniques of approach, and the preliminary conversation. Instructions are also given on recognizing criminal traits, examining and verifying documents of identification, conducting the actual field interrogation, searching the subject, and filing a field interrogation report. The final chapter discusses how law enforcement agencies can implement field interrogation training programs within their departments. Study questions are located at the end of chapter. A glossary of narcotics, bookmaking, and homosexual terminologies is appended, along with a sample training order on the completion of field interrogation reports.
