Abstract:

In the beginning there were five identical murders, the bodies eviscerated and the organs scattered playfully around. Beverley Wharton had been certain that the killer was Melkior Pendred, but her colleague, Sergeant Homer, always believed she had caught the wrong man and that it was Melkior's twin, Martin, who was guilty. Then Helena disappears, kidnapped by Martin Pendred, and while Eisenmenger desperately searches for her he discovers the final piece of evidence that reveals just who is behind the latest murders.
