Abstract:

A multigenerational portrait of the Vuorenmaa family, a Finnish-American family living in rural Ironwood, Michaigan. Focuses on the stories of the ninety-two-year-old grandfather and his daughter-in-law. Observes them as they go about their daily routines, showing how their heritage is being preserved by the children, and includes recollections of the grandfather after his death. Archival photos depict their early years in the United States as well as images of Finland in the past.
