Notes: Ninety-one Malawian artifacts from the Theodore and Victor Cox collection were exhibited at the Whatcom Museum of History and Art, Bellingham, Washington, August 20-November 13, 1988, where they had been in deep storage since their donation by a Cox descendant in 1941. After the American exhibition, the entire collection was repatriated to Malawi, as a result of negotiations instigated by the U.S. Consul to Malawi, Dr. Donal Brody.
