Abstract:
Interview with jazz dancer and teacher Luigi Facciuto, better known by his professional name of Luigi. The program discusses his distinguished career as a dancer in Hollywood and on Broadway; his military service in World War II; his automobile accident and rehabilitation; and his continuing faith in the power of dance movement. He is seen in the present day, teaching young students, and in numerous film clips from various Hollywood musicals. Also seen in film clips are Liza Minnelli, whom he recently coached for a performance after her various operations and setbacks, and his former students John Travolta, Bette Midler, and Susan Stroman.
