Frank Nash talks about growing up in Seattle, coming to Alaska in 1914, working in Seward for two years, working on the Seward division of the railroad, Kern Creek reconstruction of the railroad, coming to Fairbanks to work on the railroad, working for the Alaska Road Commission, his appointment as district engineer of the Fairbanks district, maintenance of the Richardson Highway, the construction of the Steese Highway over to Circle, Circle Hot Springs Road, the Livengood Road, responsibility of maintenance on the Alaska Highway, construction of the Taylor Highway, the road commission maintaining the winter trails, dog teams hauling mail, the size of his district, using horses for construction until the 1930s, Ed Follett, Ed Bartlett, Harry Warren, living in tent camps, permanent camps in the 1940s, using tractors, dozers, pull graders and motor graders in the 1930s, working with permafrost, the Valdez-Fairbanks Road, using dog teams to maintain the trails, introduction of planes for delivering mail, roadhouses, Walter Preston, Guy and Nell Birch, Clyde Alreed, Whitey Kennedy, Bob Simpson, Jack Brogen, Park Reid, Frank Miller, Daisy Ella Miller, Henry Sted, Riley Erickson, Frank Leach, Elliott Highway, Hollis Sterling, engineering on the Livengood Road, bridge materials, Livengood, Ben Paul, Nick Bandage, Blanch Cascaden, Charley Lewis, ferry at Big Delta, Rika Wahlen, bridge over the Tanana River, the glacier approaching the Richardson Highway, washouts on the Richardson Highway, Tanana Valley railroad, Cleary, Dome, Gilmore, Fox, the cooks at the field camps, Donald McDonald, Ivor Quinbrow, Scott Reese, Jim Gibson, O.A.
