This documentary about gay life in rural Pennsylvania quickly transforms into another type of journey as the lead interviewer in the film, fAe Gibson, begins efforts to transition from female to a male. Facing a series of challenges -- financial, familial, cultural and physical, his personal strength and supportive network serve as clear resources in the transitioning process. Follows him through five years as he navigates the transformation with hormone treatment and a double mastectomy. Presents a revealing exploration of the complex links between biological sex, gender construction, sexual orientation/identity, and gender passing or blurring.
