This collection primarily contains the personal correspondence between George J. Remsburg and his friends or business associates. It also has articles written for magazines and letters gathering information about the Native American history of the area, especially the Kickapoo; concerning the Quivira Historical Society; between Remsburg and 2 associates concerning the archaeological study of Doniphan County, Kan.; about archaeological discoveries & artifacts; pertaining to people & events in Atchison County, Kan.; and concerning other historical events in Kansas. Mentioned in the collection are Kickapoo leaders Mahimamba & Misquitto; Richard Jordan Gatling; Kennekuk; Paschal Pensoneau; and Remsburg's father, John E. Remsburg. Also included are a brief history of the Kickapoo in Kansas by Remsburg, speeches by Mahimamba & Misquitto, and papers of John E. Remsburg. Other items pertain to George J.
