Fragment:
This collection consists of the minutes, resolutions, and an order of the Georgia Executive Council, 1777-1788. Allen D. Candler in the Prefatory Note of his The Revolutionary Records of the State of Georgia (Atlanta, 1908), I, 3, states that the minutes of the Council prior to January 1778 were lost. This was thought to be the case until the early minute book was found at the Georgia Historical Society in the 1940s during an organization of its manuscripts collection. The resolution in this collection appoints Edward Telfair and James Jackson to attend a treaty with the Creek Indians at Galphinton. The order is a detailed return by all counties of Indian depredations since January, 1787, extracted from the minutes.
