"More than 300 plates, all reproduced in full color, also include a generous portfolio of photographs - many of O'Keeffe - by Alfred Stieglitz, her husband and mentor, as well as photographs of the artist by other renowned photographers such as Ansel Adams, Eliot Porter, Philippe Halsman, Yousuf Karsh, and Tod Webb. In addition, there are a number of works by American Modernist painters - George Bellows, Thomas Hart Benton, Oscar Bluemner, Juan Hamilton, Marsden Hartley, Robert Henri, Edward Hopper, John Marin, and John Sloan among them. Published in the tenth year after the founding of the Museum, this book documents the growth of the collection, which has more than quadrupled in that time.
