Abstract:

Share the heartwarming adventures of young Sara Stanley as she leaves the big city of Montreal and faces the joys and difficulties of growing up with her newfound family on Prince Edward Island.

In "The Quarantine at Alexander Abraham's," Sara, on a dare, sneaks into the house of the woman-hating recluse just as busybody Mrs. Lynde barges in for a visit. But their brief stay turns into weeks when Alexander Abraham comes down with smallpox. An epidemic of gossip spreads in "The Materializing of Duncan" when spinster Marilla Cuthbert lies about a beau she once had in her youth. Soon, she has a gentleman caller-- the same man she fabricated.
