A 1932 book about a "Clazy Chinaman" in Lompoc California that predicted the rains for So Cal in 1932. Not sure if his predictions came true of not because I have not taken he time to study the book and the stats. I can say that there is a lot of good, clean humor in this book. This is not to say that there is no tugging at heartstrings because there is a bit of that also. (The loves of Gin Chow) - I must warn that the predictions Gin Chow gave for the next 50 years (1932 to 1982) came up a bit short. ... Well, maybe a whole lot short.

Besides weather predictions the book is also an autobiography. In the chapter, 'Gin Chow is Born' we red this, "Grandfather, he great prophesier an' rich man too.But father spend all money trying to get grandfather out a prison." For the answer to why he was in prison you will have to read the book.

I'd suggest this as a good light read for those not opposed to reading a bit of Chinese dialectical.
