Notes: Archive on long-term loan from the City of Miami Beach, rescued from a time capsule (34-inch-long, five inch thick galvanized pipe) discovered December 26, 1996 by construction workers digging up the 200 block of Lincoln Road. Contents of the capsule assembled for the world premier on Jan. 19, 1954 by Universal-International Pictures and Wometco Theaters were unwittingly damaged during attempts by city workers to open the capsule, and bear evidence of blow torch and electric saw activity.

Contents: Contents include: the final revised screenplay dated May 28, 1953, 1 reel of decomposed film (3 inches in diameter); numerous letters of support and congratulatory cable telegrams by movie stars and celebrities, Australian music publishers and distributors, etc., advertisements, newspaper clippings, tv -radio guide, programs, photographs, Sovereign and Delano hotel menus from the night of the world premier, a scarf worn by actress Piper Laurie in Johnny Dark, a 32-inch-long rubber-tipped wooden arrow from the Universal film Battle at Apache Pass, a string of fake pearls, a miniature clay jug, and other publicity materials and ephemera.
