  Lisa McInerney's Glorious Heresies is a powerful book. She blends the grimy street life of drug-dealers and down-and-outs with religious and social reflection. Although there is death, prostitution, foul language, and plenty of drug abuse, the book never tries to horrify or titillate the reader....
