Abstract:

Since early childhood, Maudie Robinson the author has had an empassioned zeal to know about the life of the Indian women, and her search for this information took her from Mexico, through New Mexico, Oklahoma and into the remote sections of the country, always seeking this much sought history of a people of which little was recorded. From the Arapaho and Cheyenne she was able to compile information from the traditions of these people, that had been handed down from generation to generation, and the end result is the account of the Indian wife of the famous Kit Carson, Grass Singing, and the hardships she endured -- Book jacket.
