Byron Farwell has once again proven himself to be a master of historical recreation. From the edge of the political knife that began the "last gentleman's war," to the final moments of the Boer resistance, this striking historical work sheds a strong light on the events of the period.
This fine work is undoubtedly an excellent read for any individual interested in the history and effects of Victorian imperialism.
