Abstract:

Emerging from a scene credited with introducing the American public to Punk Rock in the early 1990s, Green Day was quick to establish themselves as the most vital of their peers, their major label debut 'Dookie' going on to sell 20 million copies. Over the next decade a series of massive selling albums, sold out world tours and an array of awards kept the group in the limelight. But the release of 2004's 'American Idiot' opened the band up to a whole new audience, making them the world's most successful punk band in the process. Featuring live and studio performances and contributions from colleagues and peers, this documentary tells the story of one of the most respected bands in music today.
