Gifford recalls how he first met Anthony when both were in the cast of Stovepipe hat, a musical choreographed by Tamiris in 1943 ; he and Anthony describe aspects of the production and reminisce about their fellow dancers. They then recall how their partnership began with Gifford's work The pursued. With Berensohn they compare the attitudes, goals and working conditions of their youth with those of dancers and choreographers today.|
