Abstract:

Program 1: Gustav Holst. A feature on the English composer, mainly through the eyes of his daugter, Imogen, who championed her father's music. She talks about his work as Music Director for St. Paul's Girls Grammar School, for whom he wrote the St. Paul's Suite for strings. We hear, too, about the composition of his most famous work, "The Planets"

Program 2: Delius as Eric Fenby Knew Him. When Delius was blind and paralysed and living in France, a young musician, Eric Fenby, offered to act as his amanuensis, to take diction from Delius, and to transcribe on to paper, his new compositions. In our dramatised feature, we hear Eric Fenby's account of his years with the impatient Delius.
