Chiefly consisting of Civil War correspondence and legal documents, 1813-1865, Abbeville and Edgefield County, S.C., re settlement of estates among Anderson and Harris family members; including will of William Anderson, 12 Jan. and 18 Feb. 1800, Edgefield County, S.C., distributing his land and slaves among his wife, Eliza Anderson, and his children, Thomas, Rachel, Elizabeth, and Rebbecca Anderson; and volume, 28 Mar. 1828-Feb. 1830, re sale of John G. Harris's estate and value of items sold.

Inventory, 6 May 1829-14 Mar. 1835, of estate of Rachel L. Harris and her account with William S. Harris; letter, 10 Jan. 1845, re William S. Harris election and commission as tax collector of Abbeville County, S.C.; letter, 6 Aug. 1847, Abbeville county, S.C., from Francis Henderson, to William S. Harris, re leasing of land at Reedy Branch Plantation to W.S. Harris, and allowing Harris to relocate slave quarters in order to prevent illness.
