This novel written in poetry form needs to be in your library. An artistic girl who loves to race, the paralleling of the grandfather's final days with the birth of her new baby brother (handled poetically with nothing to need to raise a caution about), and the theme of resisting pressure are packed into this quick read. I especially appreciated that Annie refuses to mess up her love of running barefooted cross-country, by joining a track team and having to wear track shoes, despite pressure from the track coach.
