Probably written by Defoe (Chalmers, Wilson, Lee, Trent ("probably revised by William Bond"), Hutchins, Moore, Novak ("perhaps in part of entirely by Bond")), but sometimes ascribed to William Bond. Cf. Halkett and Laing, NUC pre-1956; Rodney Baine "argues for William Bond as a more likely author" of the entire work--Furbank and Owens.
