Includes an ancestral chart for the ancestors of Nancy Emmaline Robbins / compiled by Mrs. Orpha Fessler, 1980. (1 leaf, ms.) Nancy Emmaline Robbins was born in 1837 in Jennings County, Indiana, the daughter of Andrew M. Robbins and Mary (Polly) Hale Robbins. She married Samuel Burton in 1856 in Marshall County, Indiana, and died in 1880 at Wllenworth, Wisconsin. Andrew M. Robbins was born in 1814 in Jennings County, Indiana, the son of James Robbins (ca. 1771-1854) and Hanna Jarrett Robbins. He married Mary Hale in Jennings County, Indiana, in 1834, and died in Le Sueur County, Minnesota, in 1882.

Abstract:

Contains memories of the author, written ca. 1922, and stories of the Robbins family, as told to him by his grandfather, Ransom Robbins, ca. 1865-1868.

Ransom Robbins was born in Virginia in 1793. His family moved to Kentucky in 1794 and settled ten miles south of the Ohio River, near Louisville. The family crossed the Ohio and settled in Indiana Territory at Fourteen Mile Creek settlement in 1804. He married three times. He lived in Indiana and with his son, Jacob G. Robbins, at Springlake Township, Scott Co, Minnesota. He died at age 79.
