Abstract:

Fashion designer B Michael was born on March 31, 1957 and raised in Durham, Connecticut. He attended the University of Connecticut and studied at the New York Fashion Institute of Technology. B Michael was hired as an account executive for a Wall Street firm before deciding to pursue a career as a millinery designer, designing his first hats for the 1980s television soap opera Dynasty. Following his success on the show, he launched B. Michael Inc. and his own millinery line in 1989. He developed and launched his first couture collection in 1999. He showcased his b michael AMERICA collections in China and Korea. His fashion lines sold in Macy’s department stores across the United States. Michael also designed Whitney Houston’s costumes for the movie “Sparkle”. He lectured at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology and served on several advisory boards, including Dream Yard Project and YAGP (Youth America Grand Prix).
