Abstract:

Publisher Patricia Lottier was born on February 18, 1948 in Ironton, Ohio. Lottier attended Paul Blazer High School in Atlanta, Georgia and was awarded a full scholarship by Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing in 1966. She graduated with her nursing certificate in 1969 and earned her B.S. degree in nursing from Western Connecticut State University in 1980. She received her M.S. degree in public health administration from Emory University in 1984. In 1986, her husband helped publish the first issue of the Atlanta Tribune. Within two years, Lottier was able to triple the number of advertising pages, ensuring the publication’s success. Lottier turned the newspaper into a magazine which brought a positive light to outstanding African American businesses and their owners for over twenty years. Lottier was honored in Who’s Who Among African Americans. She was also a member of the Coalitions of 100 Black Women.
