As a home renovator and a woman it is sometimes hard to find resources that provide the basics that are essential for beginning renovation work. I recently purchased my own electric cement mixer and plan to do some work in my yard. People always laugh when I tell them what I plan to do, but after I get it done and they see what a great job I did they aren't laughing anymore, they are highly impressed and start  asking me if I could do some work for them!!   My secret weapon is the library and the local bookstore. I find resources like this one - that may have information that seasoned renovators may not need, but for people who are just starting out, like me, this basic resource is invaluable!!!
