A festival for the horse fancier, this collection of stunning full page sketches of horses, illustrating the history of the light horse in America. From the Spanish invasion, through years of in-breeding and importations during the expansion of the West, the American wars, development of show and racing breeds, definite breeds and uses have been evolved and the author has reviewed the origins of each. Indian ponies, mustangs, war horses, the Morgan, the Thoroughbred, Thorough-bred crosses, the Arab, the Anglo-Arab, Quarter horse, Standard Bred, American Saddle Horse, Tennessee Walker, and of course old Man O' War are given full definitive treatment, and the author's illustrations are outstanding.
