Resumen:

[Maniac]: Based on Edgar Allan Poe's "The black cat," the wild plot concerns a mad doctor who blackmails a former vaudeville impersonator into helping him to obtain the corpses he needs to perform Frankenstein-like experiments.

[Metropolis (silent)]: The story of a 21st century city run by a "super trustee" and his collaborators who live in a paradise-like garden. Workers are totally enslaved by machines and condemned to live underground. In the midst of this misery, a young woman, Maria, arises and attempts to inspire the workers to throw off their oppressors.

[The vampire bat]: When bloodless corpses begin appearing in a sleepy German village, superstitious tonwspeople believe the local fool has human vampires doing evilbidding for him. The real culprit is a diabolical scientist who needs human blood for his fiendish experiments.

[The ape]: Boris Karloff roams the streets at night in an ape skin killing to obtain a curing serum for a crippling spinal disease which killed his wife and daughter.

[The monster maker]: Dr. Markoff has concocted a formula that spreads a hideous disease named acromegaly. Markoff experiments on unsuspecting human subjects. His amoral behavior assumes monstrous dimensions when famed concert pianist Lawrence is injected with the doctor's disease-inducing serum. In return for an antidote, Markoff intends to extort a fortune from Lawrence and demand the hand of the musician's pretty daughter Patricia.
