Joshua Ladd Howell, Anna Blackwood Howell, Brig. Gen. Joshua Blackwood Howell, Samuel Ladd Howell, Frances Howell, Benjamin Betterton Howell, Benjamin Paschall Howell, Anna Maria (Howell) Jones, Richard Washington Howell, Ann Lewis (Howell) Graham, and other family members.

Subjects include family affairs; supplies obtained by John Ladd Howell, commissary general during the American Revolution; War of 1812; Etna Furnace, a bog iron furnace in Estell Manor, N.J., owned by Joshua Ladd Howell and John R. Coates; the family owned Fancy Hill Fishery, concerned with shad fishing in the Delaware River; shipping; activities and death of Gen.
