Madeline is in love with Rogan, her cousin. Rogan is a troubled child and a slow learner, therefore he isn't fully accepted by the family. Both he and Madeline have an interest in musical theater and it isn't until they join the school play that their talents begin to shine; talents that will change their futures. Although I didn't enjoy the fact that they are cousins, the book has a different and distinct storyline. It is fast-paced and doesn't linger too long on any one event. Overall, the book is worth reading and it's something new and different.
