This is a pocket-sized book, packed with information about the internet. It is low-priced and I think quite accurate in the information that it provides, but information on the internet is transitory, so it is likely to become dated quickly, but presumably the editions will be updated frequently.
Part one of the guide offers basic information about the internet and WWW. Generally this is helpful, useful advice for the beginner, though there is probably something of value for everyone.
Part three of the guide is called 'Contexts' and provides a comparatively short section about the internet, including its history, language, a glossary and suggestions for further reading. Included in these is a rather limited listing of search engines and directories: this list could be improved upon.
Part four of the guide is another short section called 'Directories', giving lists of internet providers and cybercafes.
The major part of the guide is part two. This gives the WWW addresses of a wide variety of sites. The author claims that he has tried to give as wide a range of sites as possible, so that any reader can get started on a subject following the web links they find in accordance with their own interests. It is a good little book to start with.
