Julie Harris and her husband, producer Manning Gurian, discuss the state of the American Theater with Detriot News theater critic Russel McLaughlin. Harris comments on the difference in character between Shaw's Queen of Egypt and Shakespeare's Cleopatra, her portrayal of Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, and her life-long desire to be a Shakespearean actress. Also mentioned are her performances in Warm peninsula and the Lark, as well as her then upcoming production of Pale moon of Alban. Gurian's production of A night at Madame Tussaud's is also mentioned.
