Raw interview footage used for the documentary Broadway, the American musical. Singer and actress Kitty Carlisle Hart discusses the American theater and its many luminaries with whom she was associated. Topics of discussion include her experience performing in Vaudeville; her first Broadway role in the musical Champange, sec, based on Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss; composers George Gershwin and Jerome Kern; her late husband, playwright and director Moss Hart; Tamiment, a camp in which theater professionals wrote and produced plays during the summer; Kern and Moss Hart's work habits; Moss Hart's play Lady in the dark, among the first to address psychoanalysis; writer George S.
