Singer and actress Kitty Carlisle Hart discusses the American theater and its many luminaries with whom she was associated. Topics of discussion include her experience performing in Vaudeville; her first Broadway role in the musical Champange, sec, based on Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss; composers George Gershwin and Jerome Kern; her late husband, playwright and director Moss Hart; Tamiment, a camp in which theater professionals wrote and produced plays during the summer; Kern and Moss Hart's work habits; Moss Hart's play Lady in the dark, among the first to address psychoanalysis; writer George S.
