(1) Early years of Nation of Islam; Elijah Muhammad and his leadership style; Elijah Muhammad's imprisonment during WWII; philosophy of doing for oneself; Malcolm X; how Elijah Mohammad motivated followers of the Nation of Islam; business; relations with Malcolm X; education; childhood; (2) religious discussions with Malcolm X; philosophy of Nation of Islam; Christian church services; split between Malcolm X and Nation of Islam; philosophy of American Muslim Mission; (3) American Muslim Mission and white membership; Elijah Muhammad's attitude towards whites; evolutionary aspects of Nation of Islam; mosque involvement in community life; learning history of Nation of Islam; importance of Nation of Islam schools as well as other private schools.
