The main character lacks strength

Stephanie's mother leaves she and her father and she is sent away while her father tries to gather himself together. She enters a rich and luxurious new life so different from her own. Stephanie is so desperate to fit in that she will do anything, even when she knows it is wrong. "Invisible Girl"...
