Notes:

by kidcabe (WorldCat user on 2007-02-14)

This hardcover calendar daybook includes many of the most important entries from an original 1901 daybook presented to the American musician William Mason by his friends from America's first artists' colony on the Isles of Shoals. High-quality reproductions from Childe Hassam, Edward MacDowell, Helen Keller, John Knowles Paine, Everett Shinn, and other notables are included. The collective provides a charming slice of life from this important time period in American arts, when America was still struggling to develop a national arts identity free from the shadow of European influences. Caleb Mason has written informative text entries throughout along with an introduction, and also included supplementary photos to round out the total work.
