Abstract:

Today, I am a fountain pen tells the story of 10-year-old Irving Yanover, a piano-playing prodigy who has begun to question his kosher parents on love, tolerance, and bacon. A Rosen by any other name follows 12-year-old Stanley Rosen's family problems as his mother plans the ultimate in bar mitvahs. The Chopin playoffs focuses on the fierce competition between two piano-playing high school seniors, Irving Yanover and Stanley Rosen. The victor will receive a college scholarship - and win the heart of pretty Fern Phipps. These three comedies about growing up Jewish in a small Canadian town received tremendous critical acclaim at their respective premieres at the American Jewish Theatre in New York City.
