Abstract:

Recording of a workshop on the recording industry, held in the fall of 1964 at the University of California Extension, Los Angeles, and co-sponsored by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, attended by recording industry executives. Lectures followed a "step by step case study of the development of an LP album from initial decision through all aspects of production to final public acceptance." Participants included John Maitland, president of Warner Brothers-Reprise; Neely Plumb of RCA Victor; Joseph ("Sonny") Burke of Reprise; F.M.
