Abstract:

This collection consists of one letter from Joseph Hodges Choate (1832-1917), New York lawyer and diplomat, to General Francis V. Choate (1850-1921), Army officer and a former Rhode Island resident.

This collection consists of one letter written by Joseph Hodges Choate on January 31, 1915 to General Francis V. Greene (1850-1921), a United States Army officer, engineer, and historian, who was born in Rhode Island and resided in New York for most of his life. In this letter, Choate agrees with Greene⁰́₉s historical review of the shifting relations between nations and how arbitration could have prevented past wars.
