This work consists of a transcription of John Bowne's journal, covering portions of forty-five years of his life, from 1650 to 1694 and other miscellaneous accounts. The journal includes a few of his business accounts; a daily record of his voyage to England in 1650 and the return to America (New Netherlands); notations of family births, deaths and marriages; and a daily journal of his arrest and banishment, and his successful appeal for freedom of religion.
